Happy Father's Day!

In April, as we were doing interviews, I asked each missionary to share with me some words of advice, wisdom, counsel or one liners that they remember their parents sharing with them. I listed all their thoughts from their mothers the end of April for Mother's Day. I promised I would share their thoughts from their fathers for Father's Day.

any experience fun.

geek". Love you Dad.

you twice. Best two years, yes, but also the hardest. Sometimes it's not the best for you but you're
the best to help someone else. Apply cross country and endure!
Elder Bowzer - Be quiet and eat your food! He taught me to always try new things and to man-up!

hardworking man I know....and he expected that of others as well.
Elder Carleton - Listen to your mission president and obey.
Ekder Carr - 'I have found the enemy....it is me.' Only compare yourself to yourself, never compare
yourself to those around you, as success for them isn't success for you.
Elder Ceneno - He always wants me to be sure of my decisions because each one of them will have an
effect on my life.
Elder Cevallos - My father had a lot of words of advice for me. He told me obedience is a very

always be sure to obey even the smallest of rules to make sure there is no chance of straying off the pass.

embarrassed to describe to paramedics.
Elder Fackrell - If you don't want to do the work, you won't!

Elder Fish - Awesome!

they want you to listen while they solve their own. No throwing balls in the house!!

and everyone around you at all times. That's it.
Elder Lee - Alma 26:22 "If you repent and have a desire for the work, and do the word, the mysteries of

On to the next chapter.......

On the evening of June 13th we had a farewell dinner and testimony meeting with the ten Elders that are leaving our mission. This is always a bittersweet evening. We love the missionaries that serve here and it is always hard to tell them good-bye but we are also excited to see them move on to the next chapter in their lives....education, marriage, carreers. We wish you the best!

New Missionaries

One June 13th we welcomed eleven new elders to the mission. We greeted them at the airport, went to the mission home for breakfast and some orientation. We then traveled to the mission office for lunch and more orientation. Later in the afternoon they paired up with missionaires serving in the Las Vegas area. They had the opportunity to teach that evening and stay in missionary apartments. The next morning they were given the assignments to their new areas and met their new companions.
We are always excited for new missionaries to come....they are happy, excited, apprehensive, tired, hungry, ready to hit the ground running and full of anticipation as to who they will be serving with and where they will be serving

P-Day Hiking with Sisters

Last week on P-Day we gathered the Sisters serving in the south area of the mission and went hiking up Ice Box Canyon in  Red Rock Canyon.  It was a fun day.  It started out being a cold windy morning but ended up being a perfect day for a hike.  The only thing that would have made it more perfect is if we could have had the Sisters from the north area with us.

As part of our training in Zone Conference we continured to do role playing. The role playing took place in the 'living room' of the investigator. The lesson "The Restoration" was taught. There are eight segments to the lesson. For every segment we called a different companionship to come up and teach . They had no advance notice and they had five minutes to teach the information. It was an incredible experience to listen to the missionaries teach. Each companionship did a wonderful job.

Vehicle inspection takes place at every Zone Conference
