Called to serve in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission

On November 28th we welcomed fourteen new missionaries to the mission. We greeted them at the airport, went to the mission home for breakfast and some orientation. We then traveled to the mission office for lunch and more orientation. Later in the afternoon they paired up with missionaires serving in the Las Vegas area. They had the opportunity to teach that evening and stay in missionary apartments. The next morning they were given the assignments to their new areas and met their new companions.

We are always excited for new missionaries to come....they are happy, excited, apprehensive, tired, hungry, ready to hit the ground running and full of anticipation as to who they will be serving with and where they will be serving.

Preparation Day with the Sisters Jan. 2, 2012

What a fun way to start out the new year.  We had a preparation day with all the sisters in the

south part of the mission.  We got together at the mission home, had lunch, and worked on a few

paper projects. The only bad part.....those sisters in the north were not here!

New Missioinaries to the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission - January 9, 2012

A new year, a new adventure! We welcomed ten new missionaries to the mission this week. We are happy to have them here and are excited for the great spirit of enthusiasm that they bring with them. Leadership Training - January

Leadership Training was held for all zone leaders, district leaders, and trainers.

Training was done on The Doctrine of Christ and The Role of the Holy Ghost in Conversion.

Zone Leader Council - January 11, 2012

Our Zone Leader Council for January was held in Tonopah so that there could be a combined meeting
with the north and the south. Once again with Elders going home and transfers taking place

a number of new Zone Leaders have been called. We had a great meeting where concerns about

the mission were discussed, ideas were shared by Zone Leaders and where training by

President Black and Elders Kiaha and Bunnell took place.

Until We Meet Again!

Once again it is time to say good-bye to a great group of missionaries. Thank you for your service here in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. As you each go home and start a new chapter in your book of life we hope the experiences that you have had here in the mission will be a strong foundation for the rest of your lives.  We love you!
