Las Vegas Zone Training Meeting

The theme of this weeks Zone Training Meeting was

Becoming a Master Teacher.

We attended the Las Vegas Zone and enjoyed

being with all the missionaries.

Mission Leadership Council - June

 

Attending Mission Leadership Council this month were quite a few new zone leaders

and also a new assistant.

We thank all those who have been serving and welcome

those who have just been called to serve.

The topic of the meeting and the topic for training this month is

Becoming Master Teachers.

Training, role-playing, discussion, testimonies, lunch and a tie exchange all

added up to a great meeting.

District Meeting in Beatty

This past Tuesday we drove to Beatty to attend

District Meeting with Elder Wrathall and Elder Hart.  We took

 with us the assistants, Elder Dowuona-Hammond and Elder Carlson.

This transfer is the first time in many, many years that there have been

missioinaries living in Beatty.  It is a little town about 2 hours north

of Las Vegas . There is a little branch there where about 20  members

 come out to attend church meetings. We are excited, the members love having

the elders there and already they are seeing the blessings of being there.

Temple Day

On May 29th and 30th the missionaries were able to attend the Las Vegas Temple.
Because of the number of missionaries in our mission we have had to change to
going to the temple two days instead of everyone going on the same day.
We had six zones go on Wednesday and six zones go on Friday.

Everyone looks forward to temple day. We are able to go once quarterly.

Because the temple is not in our mission, the missionaries depend on members to

give them rides. The members are always so willing to help out in so many ways.

It was a great day!

I wish I could get a picture of each missionary at the temple. Because we all

go in at different times, I can only get pictures of the missionaries that are

either coming or going the same time we are.

Working with the Sisters

I have the opportunity to go out teaching with the sisters quite regularly.

It is one of my most favorite things to do.

I try to remember to take pictures but sometimes have forgotten.

Welcome Elder and Sister Sudweeks. - May 23, 2013

Last Saturday Elder and Sister Sudweeks arrived in Las Vegas.

Elder Sudweeks will temporarily be working with the vehicles and

Sister Sudweeks will temporarily be working with the baptisms and referrals.

In July,after the McMillan's leave, she will be the mission secretary and he will

work with finances, houseing, and phones.

We are happy to have them here. '

They will be serving for 12 months and are from

Lehi, Utah.

We had a casual welcome dinner and a fun night of games!

Sister Training Leaders

Six sisters have been called to serve as Sister Training Leaders to help train other sisters. 

They are responsible to conduct companion exchanges with other sisters.  

They will also attend and participate in the Mission Leadership Council each month.
