It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the mission office.
Sister McMillan and Sister Conder have been busy decorating.
They put the names of each missionary on the ornaments.
The missionaries have had a fun time as they come to the office
trying to find their ornament.
O Christmas Tree!

Until We Meet Again!

 Six weeks have flown by!
It is again time to say good-bye to another group of
missionaries as they finish their missions.
Elder Gott had to leave a week earlier than Elder Weaver and Elder Rogers.
He is from Canada and his VISA expired just a few days before
his scheduled release date.
It is always with mixed feelings that we say good-bye, but
we are excited as each missionary returns home and opens
a new chapter in their book of life.
We wish each of you the very best... and
a very Merry Christmas!

Welcome....Seven New Missionaries!

Another group of new missionaries!
On a Monday morning, every six weeks, we head to the
airport and wait for a group of
sharping looking young men come down the escalator!
This week we welcomed seven new Elders.
We are excited to have them here and look forward to working with them!

Temple Day -- November 28,2012

The missionaries always look forward to the quaraterly temple day.
Because there are nine zones in the mission and each has between 15-20 missionaries,
there are three zones that attend a session at one time.
The first group had to be at the temple at 6:30 a.m., the second group at 7:30 a.m.
and the third group at 9:30 a.m..
Because the Las Vegas Temple is outside the mission boundaries, the missionaries depend upon members to give them rides to the temple. Members are wonderful to the missionaries.
It was a great day for everybody.

I was able to catch a few of the companionships
for pictures as they were either going into or coming out
of the temple.

Spring Mountain District Meeting

Each week we visit different Zone Training Meetings or
District Meetings.  Last week we visited the Spring Mountain
District Meetings.
We love being with the missionaries and sitting in on their training meetings.

Turkey Bowl 2012

Once again Thanksgiving morning began with a few friendly games of flag football being played.  There were teams representing all nine zones in the mission.  There were lots of players on the field and lots of suppporters watching from the sidelines.  The weather was perfect
and a good time was had by all!
After the games were over,  all the missionaries hurried home to clean up so they could
go enjoy eating Thanksgiving dinner with the members and/or
investigators they are working with.
We are thankful for all the missionaries serving in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission.
We love them and constantly pray for their health, their happiness and for their success.

Mesquite and Logandale District Meetings

A week or so ago we went out to Mesquite to attend the Mesquite and Logandale
District Meetings and to work with the missionaries.
We loved the opportunity to learn together and to
go out teaching in the area.
