Every month Zone Leader Council's are held. There has been one in the south area and one in the north area of the mission. This month we combined the two and we met in the middle. We held our meeting in Tonepah. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive either way. For the first time we held a full mission Zone Leader Council. It was great meeting all together.

Leaving on a jet plane....
Again, it was a bittersweet evening as we had all the missionaries, two Sisters and seven Elders, at our home for their last night in the mission. We enjoyed dinner and a testimony meeting. What a spiritual feast as each missionary bore his or her testimony and shared experiences that have changed their lives forever. We were up and out the door early the next morning in order to get every one where they needed to be at the airport. We love you and wish you the best as you begin a new chapter in your book of life!

Straight From the MTC
Welcome to the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission! We were excited to greet three new Sisters and five new Elders at the airport last week. They were so excited, had so many questions, were nervous, tired, hungry, and were ready to hit the ground running! After a full day of orientation, they spent the evening with a companionship of Elders or Sisters, went to dinner at a member's home and had the opportunity to teach investigators. The next morning they met their new companions, found out where they would be serving and were off, ready to go to work!

New Meeting House in Pahrump
The Las Vegas Nevada South Stake hosted an open house for the public to view the new meeting house in Pahrump that was just completed. It is a beautiful new building on the south end of town. The four missionaries serving in Pahrump along with twelve others from Las Vegas helped to host as hundreds attended the open house. It was a great success.

Quarterly Interviews
Quarterly President Black has the opportunity to interview each missionary in the mission. Two weeks ago we spent a morning in Fallon, an afternoon in Carson City, and the next two days in Reno interviewing a total of 83 missionaries in the northern part of the mission. The next week we spent three 10 hour days interviewing the 113 missionaries in the southern part. Each interview lasts only about 10 minutes but it is a great opportunity to sit face to face with each Elder and Sister to see how they are doing.
While President Black was interviewing one on one I was able to check each companionship's Area Books, making sure that they were up to date and complete. It was also a great time to spend visiting with the missionaries. I purchased a game of Dinnertime Conversation Starters, different questions to initiate conversation. It was fun as the missionaries took turns answering different questions. We learned a lot about each other!
